We know how tough it is to learn and work remotely, and for this holiday season our Library Foundation wants to ensure you all have as many amazing resources as possible. The Anacortes Public Library is thrilled to announce that the Anacortes Public Library Foundation has expanded HOOPLA funding to include all Anacortes School District Library Cards. This means all students, teachers, and staff at ASD with a partnership library card now have access to every single digital resource we offer.
HOOPLA provides instant access to thousands of titles and each item is available on demand. This means that every student now has access to 10 digital downloads on HOOPLA every month, including audiobooks, ebooks, graphic novels, music, and more. With no wait time, every student in the school can now read the same book simultaneously if it is available on HOOPLA. They can immediately download the HOOPLA app or click on the HOOPLA link from the library website and login with their library card number and PIN. If you don't know what those are, contact the public library. A student's PIN is automatically set up to be the last four digits of their library card number.
Teachers, parents, and students are encouraged to reach out to our library staff at any time for assistance, as this is a public library resource and will be supported by public library staff. Don't hesitate to reach out to us to get started or if you have questions.
As always, we recommend talking to your child about what they're reading and using the service together initially to see what is available. Parents can choose to set their child's account to Kids only mode to curate content. Content limitations are not set by the library. If at any time you would like to opt-out of the Student Library Card for your family, please contact the Anacortes School District.
We hope you are all staying safe this holiday season, and of course we miss seeing you at the library and in classrooms. Until we can be together again, please enjoy this expanded digital service, and keep reading and learning together as we stay safe apart. Thank you to the Anacortes Public Library Foundation and its generous donors for supporting this partnership to ensure all students have equitable access to resources as we empower discovery through support of remote learning and access.
