[ARCHIVED] March Point Cape Seal project:

Update/Date change: On Tuesday, August 25, and Wednesday, August 26, Skagit County on behalf of the City of Anacortes will be completing a Cape Seal Project in the March Point area.

The work is weather dependent and therefore this schedule subject to change.

Work will occur on the following City roadways:

March’s Point Road - from the Tommy Thompson Trail to SR20
South March’s Point Road - from March’s Point Road to Casino Drive
Thompson Road – from South March’s Point Road to SR 20
Reservation Road  - from South March’s Point Road to Stevenson Road

During work hours, from 7AM to 7PM, there will be traffic delays on the subject roadways with flaggers to allow for safety in the work zones. Access to businesses may be limited for short periods while work occurs adjacent to driveways but the flaggers will work to maintain access to businesses as much as possible. Clear communication of where drivers are headed will allow the flaggers to provide direction to those locations as quickly and safely as possible.

As is standard with a cape seal, loose gravel will occur on the roadway for some time while the chip seal cures. This gravel will be swept after the curing period of multiple days and a final fog seal placed over the chip seal to further hold the rock in place.

Thank you in advance for your patience. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the City’s Project Manager, Tim Hohmann at (360) 588-8068.
