[ARCHIVED] Ship Harbor roundabout project update

In order to shut down the water to complete the final tie-in for the new water line at the Ship Harbor roundabout project site, the water crew had to exercise multiple valves in the San Juan passage area.
These valves had debris (iron and calcium deposits) preventing them from closing completely and ultimately preventing the final tie-in.
In the process of removing the debris the flow took the turbidity downstream and ultimately affected the customers.
*** In no way was the water exposed to contaminates or affected by the contractor tie-in.***
The water crew will continue flushing until the water mains are clear. It is advised that customers experiencing dirty water flush from their bathtub to remove any debris in their system, should only take a minute or two.
