The City Council recently enacted a moratorium on the acceptance of development applications in the R4 zone (west of Commercial Ave.) that propose to utilize height bonus provisions in the Anacortes Municipal Code. The provisions allowed an increase in the maximum permitted building height from 40’ to 50’, in exchange for providing a percentage of small or income-restricted units. Now the City is studying this issue and wants to hear from the community.
