As part of the ongoing asphalt preservation program, the City is moving forward with the 2019 Asphalt Overlay Project.
Lakeside Industries will grind existing pavement, make pavement repairs, and apply new asphalt and pavement striping. Full construction is expected to begin with pavement grinding in mid-July. Construction is expected to take approximately a month. During construction there will be periods of no parking on streets along the entire stretch of the project roadways, and intermittent short term road closures with traffic detours to allow for the work.
Streets included in the project are B Avenue between 29th and 32nd streets; 29th through 32nd streets west of D Avenue; M Avenue between 32nd and 35th streets; and Commercial Avenue between the SR20 Spur roundabout and Fidalgo Avenue. Side roads may see traffic impacts as well.
During grinding and paving operations, a complete closure of project roadways can be expected. Access to neighborhoods will be maintained with flagging traffic control as much as possible.
