On behalf of the city, Precision Concrete Cutting crews will be working through the next two weeks to remove sidewalk trip hazards from the downtown area and areas west of downtown, including around the library, museum and Causland Memorial Park. Work is expected to be done Friday, May 17.
The crews will cut protruding joints and cracks flush to the sidewalk surface to reduce their trip hazards. The cutting creates a slope to the surface of the sidewalks, which is within ADA standards of safety. Approximately 2,073 feet is included in the project.
