The City of Anacortes is beginning Phase III of the Fiber Deployment in the City of Anacortes. Phase III of our fiber optic telemetry deployment, installs 28,000 lineal feet of buried fiber optic cable and approximately 500 feet aerial fiber optic cable. The project connects five city owned facilities, including 3 sewer pump stations, 1 water pump station and Fire Station 2. The project will include trenching, micro-trenching, and boring in the west end of the City, will be constructed by Robinson Brothers Construction, and managed by NoaNet.
Construction began this morning, Tuesday, April 9, with approximately 60 calendar days designated to complete the project. Construction will typically be from 7 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday, although construction may be allowed during weekends if necessary. During construction there may be partial road closures and traffic detours to allow for the work.

April 15- Trenching along 2nd Street and 3rd Street
April 22- Combination of trenching and micro-trenching along Ohio Avenue and 6th Street
April 29- Combination of trenching and micro trenching along Anacopper Mine Road
May 6- Combination of trenching, micro trenching, boring along Whidbey Court and Edwards Way
May 13- Micro trenching along Glasgow Way. Boring along the project
May 20- Micro trenching along Anaco Beach Rd. Boring along project
May 27- Micro trenching along Sterling Dr.
June 3- Trenching along Kings Way
June 10- Micro trenching along Skyline Road. Start placing fiber
June 17- Placing fiber and splicing
June 24- Splicing and testing
