As part of the City’s ongoing asphalt preservation program, the City has contracted with Trinity Contractors, Inc. to complete the 2018 Asphalt Overlay- Utility and Pedestrian Improvements Project on M Avenue between 27th Court and 8th Street. The project consists of constructing forty new ADA Ramps, retrofitting forty-two ADA Ramps, installing eleven new alley approaches, completing four existing sidewalk gaps, and installing a new raised pedestrian crossing at Whitney School. This project will prepare this stretch of road for the upcoming asphalt overlay this summer.
The contractor is scheduled to begin the project March 21st and will have approximately 65 working days to complete the project. The contractor will begin with retrofit installation of detectable warning surfaces on ADA ramps first. Full construction with impacts to traffic is scheduled to begin on April 2.
Construction will typically be from 7 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday, although construction may be allowed during weekends and in the evening hours if necessary. There may be parking restrictions, traffic detours and road closures during construction to allow for the work.
