[ARCHIVED] Water valve replacements

On Monday, May 16, Summit X Construction Inc. will replace two inoperable water valves in the 12th Street and D Avenue intersection.
To allow for this work, there will be a water shutdown from 8:30 am to 3 pm. The customers directly affected by this shutdown have been notified.
Once work is completed and water is turned on, there may be discoloration or air in the water distribution lines serving the surrounding area.
If you live in this area and are experiencing one of these issues, here a few simple steps to help clear things up.
1. Flush water out of an outside hose bib. It could clear up in as quick as 30 seconds or as along as 5 minutes.
2. Flush the cold water of a downstairs bathtub.
If you're still having issues after performing these steps, please call the City of Anacortes Water Treatment Plant at 360-428-1598.
For project related questions, please call Jeff Beltramini at 360-293-1936.
We are aware of the inconvenience and will be working hard during the process of turning the water back on to limit as many potential issues as possible.
