Thursday, June 16, 2022
Have you ever wondered who built your house? Are you convinced your home holds secrets waiting to be revealed? Or are you simply interested in the history of your home? If so, then you might be interested in the Anacortes House History and Plaque Program at the Anacortes Museum.
The Anacortes Museum will be hosting an event on June 16th, 2022 at 4:00pm in the Carnegie Gallery at the corner of 8th Street and M Avenue (1305 8th Street). Museum staff will be sharing an introduction to the program as well as answering questions from the public.
The Anacortes House History and Plaque Program seeks to enrich our understanding of the history of Anacortes and to identify houses of historic interest. This program is an adjunct to and in no way intended to replace the Anacortes Local Register. Information gathered on participating buildings is kept at the Anacortes Museum and available to the public. The purpose of the program is to raise awareness of Anacortes's architecture, history, and those who helped make it. The plaques call attention to the development of our community and allow residents and visitors alike a glimpse into our past.
