With the German's having invaded Poland and the United Kingdom and France already at war with Germany, 1940's Europe was spiraling out of control in the midst of WWII. The war wouldn't officially reach U.S. soil until 1941, when the Pearl Harbor attacks shook the nation. But this 1940 draft list stands as a foreshadowing message for all the men whose name appeared on it.
