Rita Yribar is offering a free chair yoga class that is available simultaneously via Zoom as well as in person at the Center. Rita’s classes are held every Tuesday from 2 to 3:15 p.m. The class is designed to allow for each person’s physical needs. The class is free, but donations to the ASAC are encouraged. Prediabetes Is Not Benign

Dr. Sandhya Gelou will talk about prediabetes from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25. Prediabetes can lead to kidney complications in addition to other medical issues, such as type 2 diabetes. Dr. Gelou will discuss steps to prevent prediabetes and even reverse it before the condition progresses to type 2 diabetes. Sandhya Gelou, MD, is a diabetologist in private practice in Bellingham, with her husband, Alex Gelou, MD. The practice specializes in prediabetes, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, weight management, osteoporosis, osteopenia and bone health. They both completed residencies at Duke University.
